What You'll Do  

Our teachers' most important job is to help develop and nurture each student’s skills and abilities to successfully meet life’s challenges and cultivate a life of purpose. How we do that is by offering a rigorous curriculum with an individualized touch in a supportive learning community. In this role specifically, you will potentially: 

• Teach multiple sections of middle school and/or high school courses each semester
• Work with students, families, and school staff to promote student success and ensure student well-being
• Participate in and contribute to general faculty work, such as meetings, special events, self-study/accreditation, curriculum planning, student supervision, and professional development and more. Many hands make light work so we all contribute to the success of the school, our students, and each other.

• The ideal candidate will hold a degree in the subject area or a related field. Having teaching experience with similar grade-level students and/or independent school experience is a plus. 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in subject area, Education, or related field; added bonus if you have an advanced degree.
• Willingness to teach other grade levels as needed
• You're a positive adult presence in the lives of young people, with a strong awareness of the role boundaries between teacher and student
• You're a positive, productive colleague who thrives on collaborating with other adults in a school setting
• You understand and appreciate the context of an all-girls school and the culture, history, and diversity of Hawai‘i
• You can be here, on campus, ready to get to work by July 29th

Founded in 1964, La Pietra – Hawai‘i School for Girls is a secular independent day school in Honolulu, Hawai‘i enrolling approximately 110 students in grades 6-12. The campus is located at the foot of Diamond Head state monument, on the grounds of an estate modeled after an Italian villa, and approximately one-quarter mile from Waikīkī beach.
