La Pietra senior Jolie Chee to play golf with the University of San Francisco Dons in the fall
It was a big day for La Pietra senior Jolie Chee as she signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. Chee will be heading to the University of San Francisco to play Division I golf with the Dons next fall.
“I’m really excited! I’m excited to play against some really good girls,” Chee said. “My advisor introduced me to the coach and it was a perfect match. I love San Francisco.”
Chee signed her letter among an intimate group of friends, family and coaches at La Pietra. She has been attending the school since her sophomore year and has known her coaches since she was in seventh grade.
“With Jolie, the constant has always been her passion and desire to play golf – to learn how to play golf well and compete,” said Head Coach Nathan Lopez. “It’s been a real pleasure to watch her mature over the years – not only in her golf game, but just as a young woman."

Chee’s love of golf first started at the age of seven when she and her father, Steven Chee, would spend time out on the course together. Today, she’s one step closer to playing professionally.
“In golf, it’s really easy to doubt yourself. Seeing her learn to believe in herself and persevere has been very rewarding to watch,” said Chee’s father. “So proud and just happy for her that all of her efforts over the years have ended with this,” her mother, Therese Chee, added.
