La Pietra Families Photograph Rare Astronomical Event
November 19th, 2021
Photo by Amanda H. (Grade 9)
On Thursday, November 18, 2021, an "almost total" lunar eclipse took place in the night sky, visible for those in Hawaii and all of North America. The rare astronomical event was the longest partial eclipse in nearly six centuries. The next time we will see one this long will be in 2669.
Students and their families took the opportunity to take photos of the event. Parent Christy Cowser and her daughter Amanda were even able to capture some photos through a telescope! Take a look at some of the other images below form our La Pietra community.
