National Honor Society joins Ma'i Movement to end Period Poverty
January 28th, 2022
This week, the National Honor Society (NHS) partnered with Ma'i Movement to package 100 period kits that will be distributed at a wellness drive-by on February 5.
Ma'i Movement is founded on the belief that everyone should have access to period products. Its mission is to provide and distribute free menstrual products to menstruators in need and advocate for systemic change in the government, schools and community to end period poverty in Hawaii.

"Period poverty is more than just the inability to access period products, it is a health concern as well," said senior Dayna N. "As a community, La Pietra has the ability to confront the stigmas associated with menstruation and help prevent period poverty. Ma'i Movement's mission is amazing, and the NHS was so happy to make period products more accessible to others in the community."
Mahalo to the NHS for helping with this important cause! Be on the lookout for more information on the NHS period drive happening later in February.
