La Pietra Senior and Sophomore Earn Scholastic Art Awards

Senior Morgan S. (left) wins Silver Key Award & sophomore Olivia Butterfly R. (right) earns an Honorable Mention
Congratulations to senior Morgan S. on winning a Silver Key in this year's Scholastic Art Awards for their oil pastel painting entitled, "Mom." Sophomore Olivia Butterfly R. also received an Honorable Mention for her painting, "Pond of Dancing Lilies."
Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation's longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Morgan's painting will be on display starting March 11 at the Hawaii Regional Scholastic Student Art Awards Exhibit at the Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM) and will be on view through May 6.
