La Pietra Celebrates International Women's Day with New Partnerships
March 8th, 2024
At La Pietra – Hawai‘i School for Girls, we foster a culture of learning without borders, encouraging our students to expand their horizons both through academic exploration and worldly experiences. As we celebrate International Women's Day, we are delighted to unveil an exciting opportunity for our students: the expansion of our Global Exchange Program to Hong Kong, China, through a new partnership with Diocesan Girls' School.
"Building on the success of our inaugural partnership with Hakuho Girls' High School that we announced on this day last year, La Pietra is proud to continue fostering transformative educational experiences for our students," said Head of School Jen Grems.
During the 2023-2024 school year, as part of the program’s inaugural exchange, La Pietra students embarked on an enriching cultural experience at Hakuho Girls' High School in Yokohama, Japan. The exchange not only deepened their understanding of Japanese culture, but also forged lasting friendships and expanded their global perspective.
La Pietra students in grades 8 and 9 interested in traveling and learning in Hong Kong are encouraged to apply. Those who participate must meet a minimum GPA requirement, be in good standing, and have some Chinese language proficiency. Additionally, they and their family must be willing to host a Diocesan Girls' School student.
“We are eager to give a warm welcome to young women from Diocesan Girls' School and show them what it's like to live and learn here in Hawai‘i,” said Dean of Students Kristie Han, who also serves as Student Travel Coordinator.
