National Honor Society Member Dayna N. accepting food drive donations

In an effort to help those in need across Oahu, La Pietra's National Honor Society (NHS) teamed up with the Hawaii Foodbank through a school-wide food drive. NHS will be collecting canned goods through November 12, so get your donations in!

"It means a lot to the La Pietra students to give back to the community, especially during this hard time of COVID," said Senior and NHS Member Dayna N. "We're seeing more families struggling to provide basic necessities like food to their children and themselves, so we saw this as an opportunity to just help out the community in some way."

To donate, bring non-perishable canned goods or foods to your Hui classroom where your teachers will store them until the day of pick up. At the end of the food drive, the NHS will calculate how much each class has donated (by cans per group capita), and the winners will receive a special prize!

Examples of canned goods you can donate: 

• Canned proteins (tuna or chicken)

• Canned meals (stew, spaghetti, or chili)

• Canned fruits and vegetables
