La Pietra Celebrates National Cat Day

October 29th, 2021

Ms. Wiseman's pet cat all snuggled up!

Let's be honest, cats brighten everyone's day. And they've taken the internet by storm! Every year, October 29 is celebrated as National Cat Day, and our La Pietra community came together to pay tribute to the furry members of our families.

Below you'll find a gallery of cats from our students, parents, and faculty and staff. We hope it brings a smile to your face!

CAT SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Ms. Wiseman's pet cat illustrated by Alum Ichihi Aizawa '21

If you're a pet mom, you'll love this! Alum Ichihi Aizawa '21 is a Hawaii-based artist who started her own small business, Ichialoha, by illustrating pets and putting them on items like mugs, water bottles, or even phone cases. That way, you can carry your furry friends with you all the time!

In a message on her website, Aizawa says it all started when she was making iPhone cases for friends and relatives. She was surprised at all of the compliments she received and hopes her artwork will continue to make others smile. While these custom orders may take some time, Aizawa says it's to ensure she captures the individual's character in her artwork. Be sure to take a look at some of her designs here

Our alumnae and families are entrepreneurs and innovators, and we are proud these business-owners and go-getters are part of the La Pietra-Hawai’i School for Girls community! We are currently putting together a directory of La Pietra-owned small businesses. Want to add your business? Tell us about yourself at the link below, and we'll include you!
