La Pietra Seniors Celebrate Commitments on National Signing Day

Hannah Hirata '24 and Sabrina Graves '24 participate in National Signing Day at the Elk's Lodge.
On this National Signing Day, La Pietra – Hawai‘i School for Girls proudly announces the commitments of two outstanding seniors, Sabrina Graves and Hannah Hirata, who have showcased remarkable dedication and talent in their respective sports.
Hannah Hirata, a standout athlete on the volleyball court, has committed to Wells College in New York to further her athletic and academic pursuits. Hirata's dynamic play and unwavering commitment have distinguished her as a force to be reckoned with in the sport. With her exceptional skills and passion for the game, she is poised to make significant contributions to Wells College's NCAA Division III volleyball program.
"Hannah was one of our team captains, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to fill that position. Not only does she have love for the game, but she's competitive and always hungry for the ball," said La Pietra Varsity Volleyball Coach Sydnie Sambueno '19. "Hannah, I am so proud of you of how far you’ve come as a player and how much you’ve grown on and off the court. I know you’re going to excel playing in college just like how you excelled at La Pietra."
NATIONAL SIGNING DAY
Sabrina Graves, known for her perseverance and determination, has committed to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to pursue rowing at the collegiate level. Graves's relentless work ethic and commitment to excellence have made her a standout athlete in the rowing community. Her decision to join Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University underscores her dedication to both her athletic and academic endeavors, positioning her for continued success in both realms.
"We are immensely proud of Sabrina and Hannah for their accomplishments and commitments on this National Signing Day," said Head of School Jennifer Grems. "Their hard work, determination, and leadership have been an inspiration to the entire La Pietra – Hawai‘i School for Girls community. We have no doubt that they will excel both on and off the field at the collegiate level."
Both Graves and Hirata were honored during a special ceremony held at the Elk's Lodge in Honolulu, Hawaii, where they were surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and teammates who have supported them throughout their journeys.
