This is not about me. This is re: Antya Miller, class of 1970. In Lori Offer Komer’s words, Antya is a do-gooder. She has been involved in preserving the legacy of the town of Haleiwa, Waialua, and surrounding areas where she (we) grew up. She’s been a very vocal and hardworking presence there the majority of her adult life. This latest project is something she’s been working on for years.
There has been very little recognition for the girls-women who have undertaken these types of endeavors that have nothing to do with enriching themselves, but rather place more value on helping others. It’s important that we protect and preserve the communities that we grew up in Hawaii in order for future generations to enjoy at least some of what we experienced. Aloha.
