After winning the title of Hawaii State Spelling Bee champ back in March, rising 8th-grader Emma M. represented Hawaii at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. The competition took place from May 30 - June 2.

After competing in a number of virtual spelling bees during the 2021-2022 school year, Emma was finally presented with her trophy in-person at La Pietra's Academic Awards Assembly in May for winning the Hawaii State Spelling Bee. Congratulations, Emma!
