La Pietra Student celebrates Sisterhood in Poem for World Poetry Day

Every year, World Poetry Day is celebrated on March 21. A student in the 9th grade submitted this particular poem as part of the "Poem of the Week," a creative outlet to encourage students to put pen to paper and create their own art through words.

As La Pietra students in 8th Grade English read the graphic novel Persepolis, a story about a young girl growing up in Iran during the Iranian Revolution, parent Faryal Michaud graciously set up a Haft Sinn Table to celebrate Nowruz, the Iranian New Year.
